Weld neck flange

Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings for size NPS ½” to 24” for above NPS 26” to 60” it should be as per ASME B16. During a dimensional inspection of weld neck flange, you should check for.

A weld neck flange consists of a circular fitting with a protruding rim around the circumference. Generally machined from a forging, these flanges are typically butt welded to a pipe.

The rim has a series of drilled holes that permit the flange to be affixed to another flange with bolts. The Nickel alloy welding neck flange is available in the Inconel 6and 62 Hastelloy C2 C2and other such materials.

Below we list some sizes of weld neck flanges (Class 150) under ASME B16. Weld Neck Flange Dimensions. Choose from our selection of weld - neck flanges, including over 1products in a wide range of styles and sizes.

In stock and ready to ship. As already described before, the most used flange types ASME B16. Below you will find a short description and definition of each type, completed with an detailed image.

Most common flange types. Buscar Welding Neck Flange.

Therefore, the installation cost of the welding flange, labor costs and auxiliary materials costs are higher, because there is more than one process.

Unlike a plain flange that is slipped over the pipe prior to being welded into place, a weld neck flange has a spout-like neck that is beveled to match up to the pipe. Once the pipe is beveled to. Notes - Dimension B corresponds to the pipe inside diameter.

Weights are based on manufacturer’s data and are approximate. Flat face flanges may be provided at full thickness, C, or with raised face removed (the latter is nonstandard). It is largely used in various industrial pipe system such as oil and gas, chemical, paper processing, power generation and sea water equipment.

Reducing flanges are designed for when there is a change in the pipe size. The predominate flange (dimensions) matching the larger pipe size (NPT) but having a smaller bore matching the smaller pipe size (NPT). These flanges normally come in blin slip-on, threaded and weld neck flanges. WN Flange is relatively expensive because of its long neck, but is preferred for high stress applications.

Blind flanges are also known as blank flanges, and referred to as flat face or raised face depending on the presence of an indent. Named after the neck shape protruding from the center, a weld neck flange is designed for quick welding. The neck, which extends from the center, is thin and malleable in order to melt quickly.

Slip-on flanges are generally preferred to weld - neck flanges due to their lower cost and installation speed (and ease). Due to lower strength slip on flanges are typically used for low-pressure, non-critical services. Field Industries offers multiple options to our customers who need to buy long weld neck flanges. We hold extensive inventory that is valued by metal fabricators in Texas, the USA, and the Americas.

In comparison with other flange types, a weld neck flange can also be welded directly on a fitting.

The inside diameter of the whole flange and outside diameter of the neck of the flange will match the in- and outside diameter of the pipe. It has a pressure class rating of 1and has bolt holes.

Compared with other types, weld neck flanges are know for their tapered hub and gentle transition from flange thickness to pipe wall thickness. They are deformation-resistant, and are normally used for high pressure piping system, high or low temperature. It avoids making a weld seam at pipe to flange and provides self-reinforcement. Generally, long weld neck flanges (straight hub welding flanges ) conforming to ASME B16.

Welding neck flanges are normally used in severe service applications involving high pressures, high temperatures, large external loads or cryogenic conditions. Authoritative ANSI B16.

The weld neck stub ends are in accordance with EEMUA 23 Section 1A for and bar systems. The range of sizes covered is ½ in. Other sizes are available on request.
